Abstract

In the Republika Srpska, a new Criminal Code was adopted in July 2017, which deviates significantly from the existing solutions in other criminal laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina, that is, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Brčko District. The new system of criminal sanctions is definitely considered among the most important news, and among them the new penal system and the rules for imposing criminal sanctions. The concept, elements, characteristics, purpose, type and imposition of criminal sanctions in the Republic of Srpska, according to the new legal solutions, are discussed in this paper.
